After a long wait, finally good things are happening for HP TouchPad Android Porting, Team TouchDroid has made a lot of progress in installing the Android OS on HP TouchPad and have posted a video which features completely ported Android working on a TouchPad.

In the earlier video they have posted a week back they have shown “HP Touchpad Dual Booting Android 2.3.5 and WebOS” but during this week’s they progressed far better and have succeeded in making the touch screen working and putting up the appropriate drivers.

Considering the progress the TouchDroid team have achieved so far, installing Android OS on HP TouchPad is one step closer of turning to reality. So far they have made the things to work and if they come up with the installation guide they will be eligible for claiming Hacknmod’s bounty for porting Android on HP TouchPad which is currently raised up to $2300.

If you feel that it is the right time to grab the HP TouchPad, you still get HP TouchPad 16 GB and HP TouchPad 32 GB at Amazon.

In the mean time you can check “Ubuntu on HP TouchPad Installation Guide” which will illustrate you the steps involved in installing Ubuntu on the $99 HP TouchPad.

It actually doesn’t need to compete with other tablets because soon it will be out of production.

It doesn’t have to compete because there is no competition at the $99 price point. Hundreds of thousands of people already have them.
