Microsoft has announced today the financial results for the Q4 2011. It has reported a net of $5.87 billion, a 30% growth over $4.52 billion the same quarter the previous year. Microsoft has posted a record fourth-quarter revenue of $17.37 billion for the Q4 2011 beating the previous best of $16.43 billion for the Q3 2011.
“Throughout fiscal 2011, we delivered to market a strong lineup of products and services which translated to double-digit revenue growth, and operating margin expansion.”
“Our platform and cloud investments position us for long-term growth,” Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Peter Klein said.
Microsoft has sold over 400 million licenses of Windows 7 and 100 million licenses for its Office 2010 product during this quarter. The Entertainment and Devices Division of the Microsoft which sells the popular Xbox 360 and Kinect, recorded a 30 percent jump in revenue. Microsoft’s Bing and Online Services also posted a growth of 17 percent in revenues.
