How To Switch Back To Old YouTube Design/Layout?

Switching back to old YouTube is layout is easy but only limited to Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox & Opera browsers and also requires you to install a script, just follow this tutorial for the respetive browser related instructions which you have to do for getting back the old YouTube layout.

How To Get Back The Old Layout For Chrome & Firefox Users?

For Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox users, switch back to the old design of YouTube is very simple and all you have to do is to install the ‘YouTube Switch Back To Old Design‘ script, just headover to the embeded link and click on Install which could be found on top right corner of the page and that’s it you will get back the old layout.

Note that the above script does not work with older versions of Firefox, for those who are using older versions of Firefox I highly recommend you to upgrade your browser or in case if you need to stuck with the existing version you just need to install this alternative script named ‘YouTube remove Watched Videos‘ and you should be seeing the older YouTube design.

How To Get Back The Old Style For Opera Users?

For Opera lovers, you have longer process to handle with for discovering the path to the old YouTube design. We all know that Opera loads the javascripts from the user defined folder, in order to define a new folder to instruct the browser to load the javascripts just press Ctrl+F12 and click on Content and then on Javascript Options, under the Javascript Options define a folder for scripts and after you have done with it just paste the following the code in a text file and save with any name of our choice with .js extension (make sure you’re not ignoring this!) and copy the file into the ‘user defined’ folder which you have created in the earlier step.

// ==UserScript==
    (function() {
     if(/youtube.com/i.test(location.host)) {
      var cookie = "VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=tYJElFX0sZI";
      if(document.cookie.search(cookie) == -1) {
       cookie += "; expires=" + (new Date(2020, 1, 1)).toGMTString();
       cookie += "; domain=.youtube.com";
       document.cookie = cookie;
       location.reload();
      }
     }
    })()

That’s it, the script will do the magic, just refresh or open the YouTube home page and you will be amazed to see the old classic layout of the YouTube. Ping us with comments if you encounter with any problems, we will be more glad to help you guys with the problems you have encountered with.
