Reuters, today reported that Google is planning to launch a Credit Card which is intended for Adwords Advertisers. The credit card will be powered by MasterCard and comes with no annual fees and 8.99% annual interest rate (which is very low in the industry), but the credit card will be limited to use only for Adwords credit purchases.
The Credit Card targets the small and medium-sized businesses and helps them in ramping up the sales during holidays, some time when many of the people/business could not afford the ad campaigns due to lack of funds.
“They are resource-constrained and they are often cash flow-strapped. Many of them are trying to grow a business without the kind of means that, say, your classic company has,” said Claire Johnson, vice president of global online sales at Google.
The eligibility criteria for getting this card hasn’t been revealedd by Google. The credit limit varies from customer to customer depending on the spending power and the invitations for applying for the credit card will be sent as soon as Wednesday.
