Research In Motion (RIM), the company behind the hugely popular Blackberry mobiles has announced a whopping 50 p.c discount on their BlackBerry PlayBook tablets in India. This is an exclusive year-end offer and the prices will bounce back after December 31. The 16 GB PlayBook tablet which used to cost Rs. 27,990 is now priced at Rs. 13, 490, the 32 GB PlayBook will cost Rs. Rs 15,990 as against the previous price of Rs. 32,990 and the 64 GB Playbook is priced at Rs. 24,490 (original price Rs. 37,990).
BlackBerry PlayBook Features And Specifications
The BlackBerry PlayBook is powered by a super fast dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP processor and has 1 GB of RAM to make multi-tasking a breeze. The display is a 7-inch WSVGA capacitive touch screen with 1024 x 600 screen resolution. The PlayBook sports a 3 MP camera on the front and a 5 MP camera on the rear. Both the cameras are capable of recording 1080p HD videos. The BlackBerry PlayBook has no 3G support, but you can access the internet through Wi-Fi. The PlayBook also has a micro HDMI port through which you can mirror your HD videos on your huge High Definition Televisions.
The PlayBook runs on the BlackBerry Tablet OS platform and is powered by QNX technology. The PlayBook comes loaded with Adobe Flash 10.1, so there should be no issues in browsing flash enabled websites. There also limited but quite useful apps available for the BlackBerry PlayBook and RIM has already announced that soon Android apps will be compatible on the PlayBook.
