200,000 HP TouchPads To Go On Sale This Halloween

Finally some good news is being heard from HP side, the final batch of $99 HP TouchPads will be available for sale in late October (probably on the eve of Halloween) to satisfy the “unfulfilled demand”. It is learned from the sources that up to 200,000 devices were set to be released in the open market.

According to digitimes report, HP will produce 100,000 to 200,000 TouchPads and will sell through the companies who have maintained good relationship with the company, the inventory includes TouchPad units, touch panels, batteries, accessories and chassis.

Earlier after announcing the discontinuation of the HP TouchPad, the company has sold the 16 GB HP TouchPad for $99 and 32 GB HP TouchPad for $149 . The sale went like a fire and within hours of the commencement of the sale almost every supplier (including HP) has ran out of the stock which indeed benefited almost a million customers at the special discounted prices.

HP in an official announcement about HP TouchPads said, “Despite announcing an end to manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand.” However the company added, “We can’t promise we’ll have enough for everyone.” & on the other hand about the pricing of HP TouchPad the company says that “Each retailer will manage their own policy and process regarding pricing and price matching. Please contact the local retailer of your choice to see what their current position is”.

Update: Best Buy has confirmed that it will sell 32 GB TouchPads from November 1.
